Overview

Golf City Rotorua ("Golf City", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy covers the website at golfcity.co.nz only — it doesn't cover information handled in person at our driving range, mini golf course or shop on Queens Drive, which we handle under the same law but isn't the subject of this page.

Information we collect

The only personal information this website collects is what you choose to give us. If you use the "Message us" form, we receive:

• your name
• your email address
• your phone number, if you choose to give it
• whatever you write in your message

This website doesn't ask you to create an account, and it doesn't process payments. If you book a bay, play a round, or buy something in the shop, that happens in person and isn't collected through this website.

How we collect it

We only collect the information above when you type it into the contact form and press "Send message." We don't collect personal information automatically — this website doesn't use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts.

Standard technical logs, like IP addresses, are kept automatically by our web hosting provider, the way they are for almost every website on the internet. We don't access or use these ourselves.

How we use it

We use the information from the contact form for one purpose: reading your message and replying to it, by phone, email or text as appropriate. We don't use it for marketing, we don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

Where it goes

When you submit the contact form, your message is emailed directly to our team — it isn't stored in a database on our website. Two outside services are involved in running this website, and each may process limited technical information as a normal part of how the internet works:

• Google Fonts — this site uses typefaces served from Google's servers. Loading them tells Google the request came from your browser, the same way any web request does. See Google's privacy policy.
• Google Maps — the map on our Visit section is an embedded Google Maps view, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy when it loads.

We don't share your contact form details with anyone else.

Cookies

This website doesn't set cookies and doesn't use your browser's local storage. If you follow a link to Google Maps, Instagram, or anywhere else, that site's own cookie and privacy practices apply once you're there.

Links to other websites

Our site links out to places like Instagram. We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of other websites, so it's worth checking their policy before you share information with them.

Children's privacy

This website isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect the information sent to us, but no method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee it.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form enquiries only as long as we reasonably need them to respond to you and for our normal business records — generally no longer than necessary for that purpose.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to ask us:

• what personal information we hold about you
• to correct it, if it's wrong
• to delete it, where we don't have a good reason to keep it (such as an unresolved enquiry)

To do any of this, contact us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable time, and we won't charge you just for asking.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, please tell us first — we'd like the chance to put it right. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to New Zealand's Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if the way this website works changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
